Airman  is a teen book writen by Eoin Colfer. Conor Broekhart is a boy how was born in the sky I mean in a hot air balloon at the paris world’s fair that is. In the year 1890 Conor with his family who live on the sovereign island off the Irish coast called Saltee. Conor spends all of his days learning the science of flight with his touter exploring castle with princess Isabella.

But his amazing life turn for the worst when he discovers a horrible conspiracy against the King. When Conor decides to do somthing about it he is blamed and thrown into a jail off the coast of Saltee. And there he has to fend for his life and try to escape from the jail with the other prisoners while they mine for diamonds in inhumane conditions and the only way to escape the island is to fly. So as time passes by he draws the plans for the machine on the solitary prison walls. The time eventually turned into years and finally the day arrives to leave and to take chances and trust in the machine.
